Aqua Wolves Swimming Club Inc. has been operating since May 1997, and is a member of Swimming Victoria. The club offers 12 months of swimming for members, and participates in Club, Carnival and District swimming competitions.

VENUE:

Sunbury Aquatic Centre, 20 Ligar St., Sunbury 3429

FEE STRUCTURE:

(For 12 months, swimming year runs from May to May)

Swimming member           $ 75.00

Committee member           $ 25.00

Non-swimming member    $ 25.00

The majority of this fee is paid to Swimming Victoria Inc, the body controlling competitive swimming in Victoria. This registration fee includes public liability and personal accident insurance for swimmers in Club sanctioned activities.

Younger members who have finished swimming lessons (junior cubs) are welcome to join, and allowances are made to accommodate varying swimming levels.

CLUB NIGHTS:

·     Monday nights, 7:30 - 9:30 PM.   Please arrive at 7:15 PM, and be ready to commence swimming at 7:30 PM sharp. Register at the table at the far end of the pool when you arrive, to ensure you are listed for the night’s swims.

·     Club nights consist of time trials, and usually includes stroke work, turns, or dives practice at the end of the night. Times are recorded and points awarded for improving personal best times. These points are aggregated to determine trophy winners at the end of the season.

·     Parents are encouraged to assist with timing, collection of entries, raffles, etc. It is a great opportunity to join actively in the club activities, and to get to know other parents and children in the club. Please come up to the table at the far end of the pool during club times if you are able to help.

·     Cost of entry is $3.00 per swimmer. This money is collected by Aqua Wolves Swimming Club inside the pool area, and contributes to the cost of lane hire which the club pays each night.

·     A range of other activities are conducted by the Club to raise additional funding. These include a small raffle each Club night (please support the raffle by contributing a small prize each 3-4 months), as well as pie/chocolate/cake drives, lucky number schemes, etc. Funds raised go directly to the Club to support Club activities, and purchase equipment (eg stop watches, tent, and captain’s t-shirts).

·     Aqua Wolves also hold distance nights on nominated Saturdays where swimmers are able to complete swims off 200 meters or above in any stroke of their choice.

Saturday night swims commence at 5:30 PM and swimmers are required to be at the pool by 5:15 PM to nominate swims.

The cost of these nights is $3.00 per swimmer.

COACHES:

The Club has the services of level 1 coach - Andrea Sutton who is a well known Aquatic Centre teacher and coach. Andrea is also qualified to coach swimmers with special needs.

COMPETITIONS:

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP:

The Club has a Junior, Intermediate and Senior aggregate points system, and age championships at the end of each season. Club Championships will be held on a date to be advised by the Club Committee, all swimmers who have qualified will compete for a range of trophies, awarded at the Club’s end of season function / Annual General Meeting (usually held in May).

CLUB COMMITTEE:

The Club is incorporated, and has a committee which meets on the 3rd Thursday night of each month. The range of activities the Club is able to run is dependent on the support of all parents. If you are interested in becoming a committee member, or being involved in club activities such as fund raising, please see one of the committee members.
